Recently, in the vegetable planting base of Wuqun Village, Jingfeng Town, a UAV was spraying pesticides. The foggy pesticides were scattered in the green fields with the airflow. Zheng Yongshi, the on-site leader of Fujian Jianong Fruit and Vegetable Professional Cooperative, could not help praising: “How fast, labor-saving and time-saving!” Mr. Zheng has been planting carrots in Wuqun Village for nearly 15 years. Over the years, he has used a hand spray and an electric spray, and he speaks highly of today’s drones.
“If it is artificial fertilization and pesticide application, we usually need 30 people for more than 600 mu of land, and more than 20 days for work before and after. If it is weeding, more than 60 people also need to do it for half a month. Now there are drones, 600 mu of land will be completed in two days.” Zheng Yongshi said excitedly.
It is reported that compared with the traditional manual spray, the UAV spraying pesticide at low altitude has the characteristics of simple operation, fast speed, high efficiency, low cost and large-scale operation, which not only reduces the waste of pesticide resources, but also solves the problem of rural labor shortage.
The UAV agricultural drug spraying is only one link of Wuqun Village’s use of science and technology to help the agricultural industry. UAVs have been gradually put into seed sowing, fertilizer sowing and other links. The introduction of unmanned aerial vehicles and other scientific and technological equipment has given full play to the technical advantages of “safety, efficiency, energy conservation and environmental protection”, made farmers feel the role of scientific and technological innovation in agricultural production, realized the green prevention and control of grain diseases and insect pests, helped to combat disasters and ensure the production safety of grain.
