Jiangxi Shanggao: Unmanned aerial vehicles fly into the fields, making it easier for farmers to farm

On March 30, a drone was spraying pesticides at the vegetable planting base in Jieguan Village, Aoshan Town, Shanggao County, Jiangxi Province. Misty pesticides were scattered in the green fields along with the airflow. Wan Peilong, the on-site leader of Senjianong Fruit and Vegetable Professional Cooperative, could not help praising: “How fast it is, saving labor and time!” Wan Peilong has come to pick up the official village to plant carrots for more than ten years. Over the years, he has used hand spray and electric spray, and he is full of praise when talking about drones today.

“If it’s artificial fertilization and pesticide application, it usually takes 30 people to work on more than 600 acres of land here, with over 20 days to work before and after. If it takes more than 60 people to weed, it also takes half a month. Now that there are drones, 600 acres of land will be completed in two days.” Wan Peilong said excitedly. It is reported that compared with the traditional manual spray, the UAV spraying pesticide at low altitude has the characteristics of simple operation, fast speed, high efficiency, low cost and large-scale operation, which not only reduces the waste of pesticide resources, but also solves the problem of rural labor shortage.

Launching drone agricultural drug spraying is only one aspect of Aoshan Town’s farmers’ use of technology to assist the agricultural industry. drones have gradually been invested in various aspects such as seed sowing and fertilizer sowing. The introduction of scientific and technological equipment such as drones has fully utilized the technological advantages of “safety, efficiency, energy conservation, and environmental protection”, allowing farmers to personally experience the role of technological innovation in agricultural production, achieving green prevention and control of grain diseases and pests, helping to combat disasters and ensure production safety in grain production.
