On June 8, Jimu journalists saw a series of paddy fields in Xizhuanghu Village, Puji Town, Jiangling County. Unmanned machines loaded with rice seeds walked steadily over the paddy fields, spreading the germinated seeds evenly into the fields.

This year, drones have been introduced to sow seedlings, greatly improving the efficiency of seedling sowing and greatly liberating labor. “Zheng Mingyuan, Secretary of the Party Branch of Xizhuanghu Village, said that during the summer sowing season in previous years, villagers were busy planting seedlings, and the efficiency of manual planting was relatively low.” There were not enough manpower, basically they were rushing to plant seedlings.

According to statistics, the rice planting area in Xizhuanghu Village this year is over 5200 acres. Currently, nearly 4000 acres of rice have been sown through drones.

Artificial sowing can only sow 10 acres per day, while drone continuous operation can sow 250 acres per day, “Zheng Mingyuan said. The biggest advantage of drone sowing technology is that it can seize agricultural time, and its efficiency is 25 times that of manual insertion.

The reporter saw at the broadcast site that as the drone shuttled back and forth, the sprouted rice seeds evenly fell into the paddy field. The effect of drone seeding is also very good, and from the experience of implementation, it does not affect the growth and yield of rice, “Zheng Mingyuan added.

It is understood that this year, Puji Town has promoted the high-quality grain project, planting a total of 41000 mu of high-quality rice, mainly using two sowing methods: Rice transplanter sowing and drone sowing. It is expected that all planting tasks can be completed by the middle of this month.
