Recently, the 2023 Shandong Chongqing Cooperative Rural Characteristic Scientific and Technological Talents (Agricultural Plant Protection UAV) Training Course was opened in Xiannuhu Town, Fengdu County, where more than 30 UAV drivers from the city had a week long training. This is also the first time that a drone training course has been offered for the Shandong Chongqing Cooperative Rural Characteristic Science and Technology Talent Training.

Li Ying, deputy director of the Agricultural Machinery Institute of the Municipal Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said that Mechanised agriculture is an important symbol of modern agriculture, and for Chongqing’s mountain agriculture, the improvement of mechanization rate is of great significance. In recent years, our city has vigorously developed various types of agricultural machinery suitable for hilly and mountainous areas. There are over 270 varieties and over 1200 models of local agricultural machinery, and the phenomenon of “inorganic availability” and “no good use” has been largely solved. However, there is still a problem of “organic and difficult to use”, which is due to the lack of excellent agricultural machinery operators.

“In the past, our training of agricultural machinery operators was aimed at people with basic skills, and the training of completely zero foundation has never been done. It is necessary to let more people master the operation methods of agricultural machinery, especially UAVs.” Li Ying said, so this training direction and course specifically focused on the agricultural machinery sector, and in addition to the traditional agricultural machinery driving skills, agricultural machinery maintenance skills improvement, Plantation and other training courses, UAV driving courses were specially added.
