In order to help minors better understand the culture of greenhouse planting, the New Era Civilization Practice Station in Hemujian Village, Dongba Street recently launched a volunteer service activity called “Walking into Organic Vegetable Greenhouses to Experience the Unique Charm of Agriculture”, organizing minors in their jurisdiction to visit and experience the organic vegetable greenhouses, and experiencing the charm of agricultural technology firsthand.
In the greenhouse, volunteers took the children to visit cucumbers, watermelons, corn, Pitaya, grapes and other fruits and vegetables, and introduced their planting methods and growth characteristics. Although the weather is relatively hot and the greenhouse is airtight, it does not affect the children’s enthusiasm for learning new things in any way. Finally, under the guidance of the volunteers, the children also picked fresh cucumbers themselves. With a smile on their face, they said, “Today, not only did they learn about the method of growing fruits and vegetables in the greenhouse, but they could also eat the fresh cucumbers they picked themselves. It’s really great.
This activity provides children with an opportunity to have close contact with nature, not only enriching their knowledge and broadening their horizons, but also allowing them to have a more vivid and intuitive understanding of the growth and cultivation process of common fruits and vegetables in our lives, and feel the joy of picking.
