Unmanned Farm “Appears” in Jiangsu Dongtai Granary

On June 10, Nanshenzao Smart Farm, a big granary in Dongtai, was located in Gangqiao Village, Nanshenzao Town, Dongtai City, Yancheng, Jiangsu Province. An “unmanned” demonstration of summer harvest and summer planting was an eye opener.

In the wide fields, such unmanned machines include the harvester galloping in the Huangchengcheng wheat wave, the rotary tiller turning out the fragrant soil, the Rice transplanter sowing patches of new green, and the small unmanned aircraft precisely spraying fertilizer circling back and forth in the sky

According to the relevant responsible comrades of the Dongtai Agricultural and Rural Bureau, as a national demonstration city for the mechanization of the whole process of production of major crops, Dongtai has fully realized the service of “whole process mechanization+comprehensive farming”, and promoted the upgrading of large granary smart farms in Dongtai to unmanned farms, aiming to provide samples for the city and promote the upgrading of agricultural machinery operations to intelligent and green.

The total area of Nanshenzao Smart Farm in Dongtai Granary is 1350 acres. In the early years, based on the construction of high standard farmland, it was equipped with facilities such as field meteorological stations, soil water quality and air monitoring, and pest monitoring and reporting, building an Internet of Things control system. Since the beginning of this year, in accordance with the requirements for the construction of unmanned farms, we have completed the construction of a central control room and the unmanned transformation of mechanical equipment. We have implemented intelligent deployment under the 5G customized private network, achieving full digital management of precision planting, drone plant protection, interconnection of agricultural machinery and equipment, and traceability of agricultural products.

At present, the farm has three 5G signal base stations, which are monitored in real-time, automatically irrigated, fertilized, sprayed, and intelligently managed to save production costs of 150 yuan per mu, and increase grain production by 5%.
