On July 7, the opening ceremony of the first export order of waxberry in Yongjia County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province was held in Yunling Township of the county. Gaoshan Dongkui waxberry from Nanxi Jiangnanchen Sightseeing Agriculture Co., Ltd. in Yongjia County has passed the customs inspection and quarantine, and will fly to Lisbon, Portugal, via Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport. It is reported that this is the first export of waxberry in Yongjia County, which is of great significance to the development of waxberry industry in the county.
At the scene, Wenzhou Customs granted the registration certificate of the outbound fruit orchard of Yongjia County Nanxi Jiangnanchen Sightseeing Agriculture Co., Ltd., and the head of the Nanchen waxberry base signed an exchange cooperation agreement with the representative of Portugal Haitian Trade bloc, marking that Yongjia waxberry officially went overseas. It is reported that the first batch of Yangmei exported to Portugal is nearly 200 kilograms, and on July 9th, about 500 kilograms of Yangmei will be exported to Italy, priced at about 50 euros per kilogram.
In order to ensure the smooth export of Yangmei, Yongjia conducted market research and analysis in the early stage to understand the needs and preferences of overseas consumers, as well as the competitive landscape and regulatory requirements in the international market. At the same time, under the guidance of Wenzhou Customs, the county conducted a screening of locally qualified Yangmei bases and ultimately determined that the Yangmei from the Nanchen Yangmei base was the first export variety.
In addition, in order to strengthen the quality control of Yongjia Yangmei, the county starts from planting, picking, storage, transportation and other links, ensuring that each link meets international standards and ensures the quality and safety of Yangmei. For example, adopting scientific pruning and cultivation methods to ensure the high yield and stable quality of bayberry trees, while improving irrigation systems, temperature control and other facilities and equipment, providing a superior environment for the growth of bayberry trees. Portuguese foreign businessmen require that the quality of each bayberry be no less than 20 grams, and the average quality of the exported bayberry is above 25 grams.
The export of Yangmei is conducive to promoting the quality and efficiency improvement of Yongjia Yangmei industry. Taking advantage of the opportunity of this Yangmei export, Yunling Township plans to explore the coordinated development path of the first, second, and third industries in the Yangmei industry, develop Yangmei deep processing industries such as Yangmei wine and Yangmei beverage, and achieve deep integration of picking, processing, and tourism consumption. In the future, Yongjia will continue to focus on the development of local characteristic industries, continue to make efforts in policy delivery and excellent services, and help the county’s agricultural products expand overseas markets.
