In Toli Village, Doulishan, Lianyuan City, the corn and soybeans will be harvested. Xiao Zhihui, the head of the town agricultural technology station, is guiding farmers to prepare for harvesting. The zonal compound planting technology of corn and soybean has changed the net planting of corn with equal row spacing into zonal compound planting, and changed the sparse planting into dense planting, effectively improving the planting efficiency, maximizing the land potential, truly realizing the combination of land use and land cultivation, and achieving the goal of double harvest of soybean and corn. Xiao Zhihui, the head of Doulishan Agricultural Technology Station, said: “Through corn soybean complex planting, the surrounding villages can also adopt this mode, and the whole town can drive about 5000 mu of planting mode.”.
From the end of March to the beginning of April this year, Lianyuan City vigorously promoted the belt compound planting of soybean and corn on the farmland that is not suitable for planting rice, actively explored the compound planting mode suitable for the region, promoted the compatible development of soybean and corn, increased the yield of a season of soybean and improved the planting efficiency on the basis of maintaining the basic stability of corn yield. The demonstration mode is “2+3” and “4+6”, which means that 2 rows of corn are intercropped with 3 rows of soybeans, or 4 rows of corn are intercropped with 6 rows of soybeans. Choose compact, lodging resistant varieties for corn, and suitable varieties for shade tolerance, lodging resistance, and maturity for soybeans; Through the spatial mismatch of tall and short crops, the marginal effect is fully utilized to improve the multiple cropping index. At the same time, use the Nitrogen fixation of soybean Rhizobia to ensure the yield of corn, and at the same time, harvest one more season of soybean, effectively improving soybean production capacity. Wang Ye, the head of the Qiaotouhe Specialized Planting Cooperative, happily told the author: “The interplanting of corn and soybeans can make the air more circulating, easy to ventilate, and grow more vigorously. We can increase the yield of soybeans by 100-150kg per mu by using this interplanting method”.
At present, Lianyuan City has promoted the belt compound planting of soybean and corn of 23300 mu in 21 towns and streets of the city, and the city has built three core demonstration films of more than 300 mu in total; Build a core demonstration area of over 200 acres in each township and street. It is expected to produce over 450 kilograms of corn per mu and over 110 kilograms of soybeans per mu, achieving the goal of “no reduction in corn production and an additional season of soybeans”.
