Intelligent and Accurate Management Technology for Cotton Production Helps Agricultural Development

Currently, the quality of cotton planting technology in China is uneven. Preliminary research data shows that in the practical application of precision technology in cotton large-scale production, there are still weak technical points such as poor monitoring timeliness, insufficient decision-making basis, imprecise control, and low management efficiency, which greatly restrict cotton precision production Improving quality, efficiency, and sustainable development.

In order to solve the problems of farmers’ low planting income, backward cultivation technology and shortage of sales channels, the school team has developed a series of intelligent and accurate management technologies and equipment for cotton production, breaking the bottleneck of traditional cotton industry, which is too subjective, to improve the quality and efficiency of large-scale cotton precision production, and to develop the Xinjiang Production Corps cotton production Big data platform to help farmers increase production and income, and help poor households get rid of poverty and become rich. By utilizing technologies such as cultivation, information, and self-control, we have carried out interdisciplinary cross disciplinary research and adopted a collaborative linkage model of “research → integration → demonstration → promotion” to create a precise monitoring technology system for key links in large-scale cotton production. Firstly, a precise monitoring technology of “seed management harvest” has been created based on four key links: sowing, water and fertilizer management, pest management, and harvesting; The second is to create a technical process of “monitoring → decision-making → precision control” by combining information collection, feedback, and expert decision-making through the Internet of Things; Thirdly, with the main focus on “precise quantification” and the combination of technology and equipment, precise monitoring equipment has been developed; The fourth is to integrate innovative achievements, establish precise cotton operation technical regulations suitable for various production areas, improve cotton planting level and efficiency, achieve cost saving and efficiency enhancement, and lead the innovation and application of crop precision technology nationwide.

The Oasis Agricultural Information Technology and Smart Agriculture Innovation Team serves cotton farmers and related farms and Agricultural cooperative engaged in cotton planting. The nature of the service determines that the target market is cotton farms and Agricultural cooperative across the country, as well as cotton farmers groups who have close relationships with them. The team cooperates with the local Agricultural cooperative to provide farmers with agricultural information technology guidance, train the use of instruments and equipment, and infiltrate the concept of Precision agriculture. Establish a cooperative demonstration base, form an alliance of production, education, and research, achieve an increase of 160 yuan per mu for impoverished households and farmers, and ensure that farmers’ income increases. Relying on the technical achievements of the team project, demonstration bases have been established in various regimental farms in northern and southern Xinjiang, forming a diversified technical service system with “scientific research institutions+enterprises” as the core, “regimental farm technology department+Agricultural cooperative” as the auxiliary, and cotton farmers in regimental farms as the main service object. In the past three years, the accumulated cotton planting area has reached 25.8297 million mu, and relevant technologies and equipment have been radiated to other cotton regions in China.
