Zhongping Town, Weng’an: Thousand acres of chili peppers enjoy a bountiful harvest

Recently, in Shui’er Village, Zhongping Town, Weng’an County, patches of chili peppers were scorching red, and villagers were busy picking them. The small chili peppers have turned the fields red and the local people’s income growth path red.

In the past, Luo Huafu, a big grower, mainly planted flue-cured tobacco. An occasional opportunity made him realize that the development prospects of the chili industry were still good. He decided to rely on the unique climate and land resource advantages of Zhongping Town to develop 120 acres of chili planting according to local conditions. Due to proper management and protection, this year’s chili growth was good, and sales were not worried. Tomorrow, he decided to expand the planting scale.

Chili peppers are a short, flat, and fast efficient agriculture, as well as a labor-intensive industry. From seedling cultivation, transplanting, management, and mature harvesting, each link requires a large amount of labor, and the large demand for labor also provides stable employment opportunities for nearby people. Tian Renfen from Huali Town, Kaiyang County is one of them.

It is reported that Zhongping Town, Wengan County has planted 13000 acres of chili peppers this year, of which 3000 acres have been ordered, with an estimated output of 19000 tons and an output value of approximately 60 million yuan. As of now, the entire town has harvested 3100 tons with a production value of approximately 9.3 million yuan, and it is expected to be fully harvested by the end of October.

Industrial development is good, the masses have work to do, and income is guaranteed. After picking chili peppers, Zhongping Town will also plant other seasonal vegetables according to local conditions, effectively utilizing land resources, doubling land efficiency, and driving sustained and stable income growth for the masses.
