Shuimo Town, Wenchuan: Building a Smart Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Park through School Land Cooperation

In recent years, Shuimo Town in Wenchuan County has placed the work of “agriculture, rural areas, and farmers” in a prominent position. Focusing on the overall goal of rural revitalization, it adheres to the development of agricultural characteristic industries, scientifically plans and focuses on the goals. By introducing new technologies, cultivating new varieties, and opening up new sales channels, it continuously expands the channels for farmers to increase income and become rich, and promotes the consolidation and expansion of poverty alleviation achievements and effective connection with rural revitalization.

Recently, we visited the Smart Agriculture Science and Technology Innovation Park in Zhaiziping Village, Shuimo Town, Wenchuan County, where various vegetables, fruits, and other crops are growing well. The park staff are managing the weeding and watering of harvested strawberries, peppers, tomatoes, etc. Since its establishment, this smart agricultural science and technology innovation park has adopted modern equipment to achieve automatic watering, temperature, humidity, and light intensity control. Each shed is equipped with cameras, and all situations in the shed can be clearly displayed on the large screen, achieving “visual” management and ensuring that fruit and vegetable production is not affected by the season. At the same time, as a school local cooperation project, the science and technology innovation park carefully cultivates watermelons in the development of modern agriculture There are 16 types of fruits and vegetables such as strawberries, chili peppers, and tomatoes, driving the surrounding population to try planting 5 acres of tomatoes and chili peppers.

Zhaiziping Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Park is jointly built with Aba Normal University to cultivate new varieties of vegetables, fruits, traditional Chinese medicine, etc., in order to drive the entire village’s farmers to experiment first and ultimately achieve increased income and prosperity for farmers, “said Wang Zebin, Secretary of the Party Branch of Zhaiziping Village in Shuimo Town.

It is understood that the Zhaiziping Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Park is located in Zhaiziping Village, Shuimo Town, and was completed in 2020. Due to a lack of management experience, the park was once idle. To integrate resources, achieve investment returns in the park as soon as possible, shorten project vacancy time, and revitalize assets. The two committees of Zhaiziping Village have taken the initiative to think and actively cooperate. After multiple negotiations, Zhaiziping Village and Aba Normal University have established a comprehensive strategic cooperation relationship between the school and the area, jointly promoting the construction of the Science and Technology Innovation Park. Next, Zhaiziping Village in Shuimo Town will deepen the cooperation between the school and the land with Aba Normal University. Through 5 years of construction, a 3.0 agricultural development model will be formed, which will be a modern agricultural industrial park integrated with “three-dimensional application scenarios” such as digital agricultural scene presentation and deep experience of research and ecological leisure.
