Drone fertilization adds intelligence to field management and solidifies the foundation of food security

At present, it is a critical period for the rapid growth of grain crops such as corn and rice. The Agricultural and Rural Service Center of Shaqiao Town has shifted the focus of agricultural production to field management, and technical personnel have gone deep into the frontline to guide farmers in the scientific and rational use of fertilizers, laying a solid foundation for this year’s agricultural harvest. To solve the problem of uneven fertilization, the Town Agriculture and Rural Service Center assisted the County Agriculture and Rural Bureau in organizing planting households to carry out drone fertilization work. Let high-tech machinery become a good helper for improving the quality, efficiency, and green income of farmers’ grain production.

Mixing, loading, taking off, spraying… Under the skilled remote control command of technical personnel, accompanied by a rapid “buzzing” sound, a drone filled with mixed fertilizer liquid rose into the air and flew straight and uniformly along the corn field. Misty compound fertilizer liquid sprayed from the body and scattered in the field, providing “nutritious meals” for the corn seedlings in the field.

There are 5 drones of different models participating in the fertilization operation, each capable of carrying approximately 30-60 kilograms of fertilizer solution. Li Dajie, a planter from the Li family group of the Tianxin Village Committee in Shaqiao Town, happily said, “According to the past, manual spraying took four to five days to complete in these areas of our house, and the spraying was uneven. Nowadays, drone operations only take two hours to complete. Spraying evenly saves labor and time, and can effectively reduce trampling on seedlings. While saving production costs, it can also effectively improve the quality and efficiency of operations

It is understood that the efficiency of drone fertilization operations is more than 30 times that of manual operations. A drone can spray 50-60 acres per hour, greatly improving work efficiency while also reducing the production intensity and costs of farmers. At present, 64 groups of 14 village committees in Shaqiao Town have basically used drone spraying and fertilization on 5000 acres of corn and rice, laying a solid foundation for high grain yield and increased income for farmers.

Nowadays, in the vast fields of Shaqiao, drone fertilization operations add intelligence to field management, fully leveraging the advantages of convenient and efficient operation of “smart agricultural machinery”. This not only alleviates the problem of “difficult pesticide application” in agricultural production, reduces agricultural pollution, promotes green development, but also broadens new channels for farmers to increase income, helps Shaqiao’s modern agricultural development run out of “acceleration”, and establishes a solid foundation for food security.
