It is reported that the national early rice production this year has increased by 215000 tons or 0.8% compared to the previous year. At present, both summer grain and early rice have been harvested abundantly, and autumn grain accounts for over 70% of the annual grain production, making its ability to harvest abundantly crucial. With the support of good policies, good technology, and good quality, the countryside has ushered in a beautiful harvest during the golden autumn season. The faces of farmers are filled with joy of harvest, and the momentum of achieving “twenty consecutive harvests” in grain production remains unabated.

To continue promoting the development of rural agriculture, active policy measures need to be taken. Farmers are the backbone of grain production, and their enthusiasm and initiative in farming are crucial for building a “major granary”. In addition to common agricultural policies such as the minimum purchase price policy and farmland protection subsidies, this year, the Ministry of Finance has expanded the coverage of full cost insurance and planting income insurance for the three major grain crops, achieving full coverage in 1105 major grain producing counties. Insurance companies should improve the efficiency of claims settlement, open green channels, minimize farmers’ losses, and help farmers respond to the threat of extreme weather such as floods and typhoons to agricultural production in a timely manner. In addition, in order to protect the quantity and quality of cultivated land, various regions should implement the requirement of equal responsibility between the Party and government for food security, and not slack off in disaster prevention and reduction efforts, as well as in post disaster production recovery work, to enhance the risk resistance ability of food production. As of now, the central government has allocated a total of 6.184 billion yuan in 8 batches to support agricultural production and other work in disaster stricken areas. Awesome measures and warm measures not only help farmers maintain their enthusiasm and confidence in farming, but also lay a solid foundation for “good scenery”.
