The combination of agricultural industry and digitization is of great significance for accelerating the modernization of agriculture and rural areas and building a modern industrial system. In recent years, Lucheng District, Changzhi City, Shanxi Province has utilized information technology to intelligently control the entire industrial chain of agricultural production, operation, management, and service, achieving high-quality, efficient, safe, and controllable agricultural production.
In the past, agricultural and forestry management relied on experience and manpower, but now, the agricultural and forestry industry in Lucheng District has also made a “smart” leap. The application of big data in agriculture and forestry, agricultural production monitoring stations, and forest fire prevention intelligent monitoring networks… These information perception systems truly enable agriculture and forestry management and protection work to achieve “people sitting at home, knowing everything in the ground.
Big data is the foundation of smart agriculture, and information perception is the source of agricultural data. In recent years, Lucheng District has comprehensively utilized 5G Internet of Things technology to monitor agricultural production in real-time, including soil moisture, environmental meteorology, temperature and humidity, light and rainfall, and diseases and pests, focusing on the construction of high standard farmland. As of now, nine agricultural production monitoring stations have been built in Lucheng District, and 100 solar insecticidal lamps have been installed. In the Smart Agriculture Industrial Park in Zhangjiahe Village, Luhua Street, there is a field intelligent monitoring equipment area of less than 20 square meters, equipped with insect pest monitoring and reporting equipment, crop growth monitoring equipment, intelligent meteorological environment monitoring equipment, and intelligent soil environment monitoring equipment. Taking the insect pest monitoring and reporting instrument as an example, data such as pest base and population rate within a radius of five kilometers will be transmitted to the digital agricultural cloud platform to accurately formulate pest prevention plans. It can be said that technology empowerment has solved the problems of information asymmetry, low efficiency, and high costs that exist under traditional agricultural production methods, while also making farmers’ income unstable and agricultural product safety insecure a thing of the past. Song Jianjun, General Manager of Shanxi Yunyanshan Ecological Agriculture Co., Ltd., said, “Through these technological facilities, our park land can more accurately grasp soil moisture and pests, greatly improving the yield and quality of scallions and millet
