According to Liu Shuxiang, the head of the Plant Protection Station of the Qingyuan District Agriculture and Rural Bureau, the current period is a critical period for corn growth and the prevention and control of corn brown spot and southern rust. Starting from August 3rd, the district seized the opportunity to organize 160 plant protection drones for corn unified defense and control, ensuring stable autumn grain production and increased income. At present, 300000 acres of corn have been protected, and it is expected to achieve unified control of over 570000 acres of corn in the entire region by the end of August.
In recent years, Qingyuan District has continuously promoted the intelligence of agricultural equipment and promoted the transformation from traditional agricultural production methods to modern agricultural production methods through the model of “professional service organizations+large planting households+agricultural cooperatives+farmers”. At present, there are four national star level service organizations for unified prevention and control in the area, with over 160 plant protection drones and over 160 certified pilots, with a daily operating capacity of 80000 acres.
