On the early morning of August 13th, Tang Yangping, a grain grower in Xinmin Village, Guqiao Street, Huaying City, Guang’an City, commanded the harvester to run at full power to harvest rice. This year, he contracted to plant more than 200 acres of rice fields, producing large and full ears of rice, ushering in a bumper harvest. This is inseparable from the implementation of Huaying’s high standard farmland construction project in recent years.

Every acre of rice has increased by about 200 kilograms compared to before. “Tang Yangping told reporters that in the past, due to the low terrain in the village, some of the arable land was scattered and the flatness was not high, and the construction of agricultural supporting facilities such as tractor roads was lagging behind, affecting large-scale operation and mechanized operations.
Especially in the event of heavy rain, the fields are prone to waterlogging. Agriculture often relies on the weather for food, “Tang Yangping admitted. Through the construction of high standard farmland, the fields are square, the canals are connected, and the roads are connected, basically achieving the goal of ensuring harvest during drought and flood, and suitable machinery for operation. The stable production and income increase of grain have also been guaranteed to some extent.
Liu Jiamiao Village, Mingyue Town, Huaying City, is also experiencing new changes. The flat and wide fields are crisscrossed by roads, and the golden rice is growing happily, while before this place was still a wasteland. Nowadays, barren farmland has become fertile soil, filled with grain crops.
In the process of project implementation, we will combine the renovation of abandoned farmland with the construction of high standard farmland, and implement projects such as irrigation and drainage, field roads, efficient water-saving, and soil improvement. Wang Li, Director of Huaying City Agriculture and Rural Bureau, introduced that currently, Huaying City has implemented over 80000 acres of high standard farmland, directly benefiting more than 50000 agricultural population and driving an annual per capita income increase of about 200 yuan for the people in the area.
In the intelligent seedling greenhouse next to the grain processing center, temperature control and humidity detection equipment are all in place, and the seedling production line is in an orderly manner. According to the agricultural season, rice seedling cultivation is carried out from March to May every year, which can meet the demand for mechanical transplanting of tens of thousands of acres of rice fields in the surrounding area. Luo Zhongsheng introduced that various vegetable seedlings are currently being cultivated in the greenhouse for staggered utilization, fully leveraging the role of intelligent seedling cultivation greenhouses.
The modern grain industry cannot do without the support of facility agriculture. “The relevant person in charge of Guang’an Agriculture and Rural Bureau introduced that the facilities in the planting industry are not only greenhouse and plastic greenhouses, but also public service facilities such as intensive seedling cultivation, cold storage and preservation, cold chain logistics, and warehousing and drying. These facilities can not only solve farmers’ technical and cost problems, but also help improve the quality of agricultural products, enhance agricultural efficiency, and promote farmers’ income growth.
