Puding: Rice Demonstration Site Mechanized Harvest Busy

On September 26th, the County Agricultural Machinery Center, in collaboration with the County Agriculture and Rural Bureau, organized the Agricultural Machinery Cooperative to carry out mechanized harvesting of rice in Machang Town, and used this area as a demonstration site to carry out relevant calculation work, providing support and guarantee for continuing to promote food safety production

At the rice full mechanization demonstration site in Xiaozhai Group, Dafenba Village, Machang Town, Puding County, the sound of the machines was booming, and the harvesters were shuttling back and forth in the golden rice fields, completing the harvesting, threshing and other processes in one go. In a moment, ears of golden rice turned into bags of heavy grains, creating a scene of fruitful farming in the field. Watching the high efficiency brought by mechanized harvesting, the joy of the masses was beyond expression.

Farmer Hu Xi introduced that if these millets are harvested manually, it takes four people to harvest one acre of land per day, with a minimum cost of 600 yuan per person. A harvester can be used to harvest one acre in just 20 minutes, and farmers do not spend money. The government provides free machines for harvesting, which not only saves time and effort, but also saves costs for farmers.

In the rice field after being harvested by the harvester, the straw picker follows closely. In an instant, the scattered straw in the field is crushed and packaged, and the crushed straw can be used for feeding cows and other purposes, which is both efficient and environmentally friendly. At the same time, staff from the agricultural department are busy calculating the yield per mu of rice and the loss rate of mechanized harvesting in the harvested rice fields.

After testing, our per mu yield has reached 607.4 kilograms, exceeding the average per mu yield of rice in the entire county in 2022. The machine harvest loss rate is measured to be 2.2%, which is within a controllable range. “Liu Chenghui, Deputy Director of the Agricultural Machinery Service Center of Puding County, said that in 2024, the Xiaozhai Group in Dafenba (Village) will be used as a demonstration point to vigorously promote the mechanization of rice planting and harvesting throughout the county, striving to reach 5000 mu.

Next, the County Agricultural Machinery Center will fully leverage the demonstration and leading role of this planting site, vigorously promote mechanized planting, improve the application rate of agricultural machinery, assist in improving the quality and efficiency of the rice industry, and enable more farmers to enjoy the speed and convenience brought by mechanized production.
