Three provincial-level demonstration family farms added in Yixing City

In order to better play a typical driving role, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs organized the evaluation of provincial-level demonstration family farms and the collection of typical cases of family farms in 2023. A total of 301 provincial-level demonstration family farms were evaluated, and Xinyuanheng Family Farm, Junwen Family Farm, and Xiaolou Family Farm in Yixing City were listed. Among them, Xinyuanheng Family Farm is located in Liuzhu Village, Xinjian Town, where more than 70000 laying hens are raised, with an annual egg production of over 1100 tons and an annual output value of over 9.5 million yuan. Relying on high-tech, the farm has established an intelligent management system for breeding environment and egg quality and safety traceability, achieving seamless integration between egg chicken breeding safety and egg product safety monitoring. Junwen Family Farm is located in Furong Village, Zhangzhu Town, mainly growing Ganoderma lucidum and yellow peaches, with a current scale of over 130 acres. To ensure the quality of Ganoderma lucidum products produced, the farm chooses to rotate in a single greenhouse covering more than 10 acres, and plants cherries, tomatoes, dragon fruits, red beauties, etc. in other greenhouses, forming an integrated harvesting operation model, with significant economic, social, and ecological benefits. Xiaolou Family Farm is located in Beimen Village, Zhangzhu Town, mainly engaged in tea cultivation, production, and sales. The current scale is over 260 acres. The farm is based on modern green management of tea gardens, focusing on product precision research and quality control, as well as the cultivation of high-quality varieties and base construction. It has built a green modern tea garden that integrates production and operation, demonstration and promotion, ecological restoration, and science education.

The typical case of a provincial-level family farm in 2023 was awarded as the Municipal Chunqiang Family Farm. The farm is located in Hongxiang Village, Xinzhuang Street. Relying on the industry university research cooperation platform with Zhejiang University and Yan’an University, it independently introduces a series of new products such as Cordyceps militaris, Morchella esculenta, Agaricus blazei, and Tricholoma matsutake, and innovatively creates a healthy industry of edible and medicinal mushrooms. The farm has an intelligent greenhouse of 6670 square meters and a steel frame greenhouse of 10000 square meters, making it the largest edible and medicinal mushroom planting base in Wuxi City.

In recent years, the Municipal Agriculture and Rural Bureau has continuously increased efforts to cultivate family farms. As of now, the total number of family farms included in the national family farm list management in the city has exceeded 1400, the total number of provincial-level demonstration family farms has reached 65, and the total number of provincial-level, municipal, and county-level demonstration family farms has exceeded 300. Family farms are increasingly becoming an important force in leading the moderate scale operation of agriculture and promoting stable production and supply of agricultural products.
