In the afternoon of February 28, 2023, the author walked into the wheat field of Group 9, Erduo Community, Linhai Town, Sheyang County. The villager Zang Biliang was busy preparing for the formulation of pesticides and UAV before takeoff.
When everything was ready, Zang Biliang pressed the drone remote control in his hand. With the drone’s hum of the drone’s rotor, the drone swept over the green wheat field at low altitude and sprayed pesticide evenly. Within two minutes, the drone had sprayed a piece of wheat field. “This piece of wheat is about 300 mu, and the UAV can complete the spraying operation in only about 2 hours. Compared with the traditional manual spraying UAV, it is not only faster, but also more uniform, and greatly improve the control effect.” Zang Biliang said.
Farmers are willing to use UAV mainly because of its high efficiency. Zang Biliang told the author that the UAV uses the Beidou navigation system, and the agricultural manipulator can operate only through the automatic control of the remote controller. The efficiency of the UAV spraying pesticide is more than 40 times that of the manual, the fertilization is about 30 times that of the manual, and the seeding is more than 25 times that of the manual. With the increasing acceptance of UAVs by farmers, even the traditional agricultural machinery cooperatives have taken the initiative to open their doors and hope to cooperate with them.
