According to the Russian State News Agency, the Russian Ministry of Defense recently released a video of paratroopers using Boomerang VR head display to control the Kamikaze UAV to attack the Ukrainian army.

At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defense added: “During the special military operation, the unmanned aerial vehicles of the Russian airborne forces are actively using Boomerang unmanned aerial vehicles to attack the positions of the Ukrainian army.”

According to the official introduction, Boomerang is a simple helicopter UAV, which contains four rotors, four small engines and a huge battery, and can carry an explosive and detonator. In addition, the UAV has a maximum speed of 170 km/h and high mobility, which can be used to attack mobile targets and soldiers who dig trenches and hide in special shelters.

It is worth mentioning that compared with the standard four-rotor aircraft, Boomerang has eliminated the satellite communication module, so the anti-UAV gun cannot deal with this UAV.

As for the specific operation, the Russian Ministry of Defense explained that the operation of Boomerang UAV requires two personnel: an operator uses VR head display to control the UAV, find and strike the designated target, while an assistant operator starts the UAV and tracks its flight direction, while providing guidance to the operator.
