Majiang, Guizhou: Plant Protection UAV Assists Rape Production and Harvest Stabilization

Currently, it is the growing season of rapeseed, and it is also a critical period for rapeseed management and protection. Various towns and townships in Majiang County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province have actively promoted the field management and protection of rapeseed, effectively ensuring a stable yield and harvest of rapeseed.

At the China Good Grain and Oil High Quality Rice Demonstration Base in Leping Village, Bamang Township, Majiang County, 1700 mu of rape flowers are in full bloom. With the buzzing sound of the propeller, a plant protection drone quickly lifted into the air, and under the remote control of the technicians from the Majiang County Agriculture and Rural Bureau, sprayed the rape flower sea with a liquid medicine to prevent and control pests and diseases.

The plant protection drone drives the pesticide mist flow to disperse evenly through the huge airflow under the rotor, which has the advantages of uniform spraying and good diffusion effect, can reduce labor costs and improve pesticide utilization.

“Our plant protection drone can work continuously for 20 to 30 acres per hour, saving 30% of pesticides, and improving work efficiency.” Sun Lin, the head of Majiang County Plant Protection Technology Service Station, said that this base will plant 1700 acres of rapeseed this year, with an estimated output value of over 1.9 million yuan.
