On April 8th, reporters saw near the intersection of Shengli East Street and Jinma Road in the high-tech zone that staff were manipulating a large drone to take off, attracting many citizens to watch. This is a high-tech zone that utilizes drones to prevent flying debris. The drone carries a white medicine box and slowly takes off, flying over willow trees, evenly spreading the medicine, and returns to flight after running for nearly ten minutes. After refilling the medication and replacing the battery, it took off again for spraying. The deployment of large-scale unmanned aerial vehicles to control flying catkins in the central urban area is a pioneering work of our city’s urban management department. The person in charge of the High tech Zone Urban Management Center introduced that this large drone can carry 30 liters of medicine at a time and can continue flying for about 10 minutes after takeoff. Continuous operation can be achieved by constantly replacing batteries and medicine barrels. This spraying is a garden maintenance agent that contains polymer condensates, coagulants, abscisic acid, etc., which can cause flying flocs to condense and fall off on trees, achieving prevention and control effects, and is harmless to human health. On the same day, the staff used drones to prevent and control willow catkins on the main road section with a large number of willow trees in the jurisdiction, achieving good results. For higher trees, the control effect of spray spraying flocculating inhibitor from below is slightly poor. However, using drones to spray on top of trees and using the wind power of drone blades to evenly blow drugs onto every branch and leaf can achieve better control effects. In addition to dispatching drones, landscaping workers also used methods such as “oral” inhibitors to trees to increase cleaning frequency, timely remove ground debris, and regularly clean tree crowns with fog trucks to control debris.
