Emergency Action Assisted by Agricultural Drones

In the spring of the Northern Wilderness, drones called “Militia” flew over the fields from time to time. Huang Pengju, Minister of Human Resources and Military Affairs of Mudanjiang Management Bureau of Agricultural Reclamation in Heilongjiang Province, told me that this is a scene where they organized professional training for agricultural drone reconnaissance platoons in conjunction with spring sowing opportunities.

The Mudanjiang Branch of Beidahuang Group has multiple border farms, and the militia team not only completes agricultural production, but also shoulders the responsibility of stabilizing borders and strengthening defense. With the development of modern agriculture in the reclamation area, hundreds of agricultural drones have been applied in agricultural production such as remote sensing monitoring, pest control, and fertilization operations.

To fully utilize this resource advantage, the Human Resources and Military Affairs Department of the management bureau selected high-performance drones, selected drone operators with excellent military and political qualities, and carefully organized agricultural drone reconnaissance platoons.

Subsequently, they formulated a scientific training plan based on border control and emergency action task requirements, continued to carry out drone professional skills training, and actively expanded the functions of agricultural drones in carrying out diversified tasks. They took advantage of frequent operations such as spring sowing, summer management, and autumn harvest to actively carry out joint defense activities. By practicing command, skills, coordination, and style, they improved their ability to handle emergencies.

At present, the agricultural drone reconnaissance platoon is mainly responsible for border patrol reconnaissance, flood season dangerous situation investigation, emergency rescue material delivery, and emergency action intelligence collection, playing an important role.
