Entering the field, a plant protection drone was shuttling back and forth over the farmland. Wherever the drone went, the atomized liquid was evenly sprayed on the leaves. This is a microcosm of Anfu County Tobacco Monopoly Bureau’s strong promotion of drone plant protection for disease and pest control, and the promotion of mechanization and modernization of field production.
At present, it is a critical period for the formation of the yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco, as well as a critical period for pest control. In order to further reduce farmers’ production costs and ensure stable production and income increase, Anfu County Tobacco Farmers Comprehensive Service Professional Cooperative is organizing drones to carry out specialized plant protection and spray broad-spectrum fungicide Bordeaux on concentrated contiguous farmland according to the guidance of the local tobacco department, Further enhance plant immunity, effectively prevent bacterial invasion, and assist farmers in reducing work and costs, improving quality and efficiency.
Technology has been injected into rural industries, and the Anfu County Tobacco Monopoly Bureau has allowed plant protection drones to “fly” to the fields and become good “plant protection personnel”. Surrounding tobacco farmers have come to the operation site to observe. Li Qingshan, the family farmer of Qingtang Village, said in surprise, “It’s better to be high-tech. In the past, we used to spray with spray on our backs, which took both time and labor. Now the tobacco company has found drones for us to spray, which is fast and good, reducing our burden.”
New technologies have greatly increased the scientificity of field management, while new equipment has doubled the efficiency of operations. The staff who is carrying out plant protection operation introduced that compared with the traditional manual spray, the plant protection UAV can complete more than 100 mu of plant protection operation area in one hour. Compared with the traditional manual spraying, the working efficiency of each plant protection UAV is equivalent to 50 labor forces, can save more than 50% of water, can effectively reduce pesticide crops and residues in soil, and has good precision pesticide application effect, strong water-saving and pesticide saving ability, high time-saving and labor saving efficiency Advantages such as low agricultural non-point source pollution.
In recent years, in order to actively respond to the national promotion of green environmental protection concepts and reduce environmental damage caused by pesticides, Anfu Tobacco has further increased the promotion of green pest prevention and control technologies. It is understood that since the beginning of this year, in order to reduce the labor intensity of tobacco farmers’ plant protection operations, promote work reduction, cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency improvement, Anfu County Tobacco Monopoly Bureau has invested a total of 15 plant protection drones in the production of flue-cured tobacco throughout the county, with an estimated plant protection flight prevention coverage area of over 90%. Because the plant protection UAV adopts the ultra-low volume spray spraying method, the flight prevention operation is low in height and less drifting, so that the leaf surface and leaf back can be evenly sprayed when spraying pesticides, which makes the green prevention and control more accurate and efficient, ensures the plant protection effect, and is also recognized by the majority of tobacco farmers.
The organic integration of smart agriculture and the flue-cured tobacco industry has enabled farmers to save costs and increase efficiency. Intelligent, efficient, and energy-saving unmanned plant protection services have also flown out of the “new height” of helping farmers reduce work and costs, making it easier for farmers to grow tobacco, which is of great significance for accelerating the transformation and development of tobacco production.
