Drones fly into vegetable fields, allowing farmers to hold onto “oil bottles”

As of now, Jiangjin District in Chongqing has basically formed a new development pattern of “full mechanization+comprehensive farming”, achieving the transformation of 20000 acres of suitable mechanized farmland. It has 60 large and medium-sized tractors, 30 harvesters, 100 sets of supporting machinery, 50 drones, 1000 drone and agricultural machine operators, and 300 professional maintenance personnel, and has provided a total of 150000 acres of grain and oil machinery full service.

On May 5th, at the rapeseed field of Chengzhi Agricultural Professional Cooperative in Fangyin Village, Baisha Town, Jiangjin District, Chongqing, the weighted average yield per mu of the three pilot plots for aerial seeding of rapeseed was 162.57 kilograms, exceeding the average level. After strict calculation and reporting of the data by the production experts, the head of the cooperative, Qiu Benping, laughed and was satisfied that the entire process of drone seeding and fertilization management for 2700 acres of rapeseed had achieved this yield.

Li Ying, a special envoy of Chongqing Science and Technology and deputy director of the Agricultural Machinery Research Institute of Chongqing Academy of Agricultural Sciences (hereinafter referred to as the Agricultural Machinery Institute of Chongqing Academy of Agricultural Sciences), has been researching how to use smart agricultural machinery in mountainous and hilly areas to improve planting efficiency and increase planting profits. With the support of the Chongqing Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Science and Technology Bureau of Jiangjin District, Li Ying led the establishment of the first volunteer service team for science and technology special envoys in Chongqing, and took the lead in carrying out the demonstration of “comprehensive farming+full mechanization”, paving the way for the revitalization of mountainous and hilly rural areas.

The rapeseed drone aerial seeding technology has not only been listed as one of the top ten leading technologies in Chongqing in 2022 by the Chongqing Agriculture and Rural Committee, but also has been promoted as the main technology in Chongqing this year. According to statistics, the rapeseed planting area for drone aerial seeding in accordance with the drone aerial seeding technology standards proposed by Li Ying’s team this year has reached over 300000 acres.

Through technical breakthroughs in feeding technology and structure innovation, control mechanism innovation and operation comfort improvement, operation monitoring technology and equipment innovation of small combine harvester, they have developed and promoted a series of small rice combine harvester characterized by light weight, good adaptability, high operating efficiency, good reliability, intelligent, advanced and applicable.

“The UAV seeding technology can be further improved to achieve drilling, so that mechanized harvesting can be carried out after maturity.” At the rape production measurement site, Zhao Lijun, a professor of liberal arts college, put forward suggestions for improvement. As an expert in the research and design of intelligent agricultural machinery and agricultural robot in hilly and mountainous areas, he is also a member of the party volunteer service group. Zhao Lijun has developed multiple independent intellectual property achievements such as the “unmanned driving system for hilly and mountainous tractors” and the “orchard weeding robot” for the needs of hilly and mountainous agriculture. Next, he will work with the service team to develop more smart agricultural machinery based on the agricultural industry situation in Jiangjin.
