Unmanned aerial vehicles demonstrate their skills and can “plant” over 200 acres in half a day

At present, it is a critical period for summer rice planting, and various regions have improved the efficiency of rice summer planting through drone aerial seeding and mechanized transplanting.

In the farmland of Qianhu Village, Gaiyang Township, Yongtai County, Fuzhou, senior agronomists from the local agricultural and rural bureau are operating drones containing rice seeds for aerial seeding operations. The drone followed the established route, spreading seeds evenly as it advanced, causing ripples in the paddy field. Agricultural technicians told reporters that this agricultural drone can load up to 100 kilograms of seeds at a time, and can complete the planting operation of over 30 acres of farmland within one hour, greatly saving time and labor costs for seedling cultivation and transplantation.

In the thousands of acres of high standard farmland in Zhongshan Town, Xianyou County, Putian City, as high-speed transplanters shuttle back and forth, tender green seedlings slowly slide down from the seedling tray. The farmers told reporters that they have collaborated with the cooperative and plan to plant over 1400 acres of medium rice here this year. Currently, more than 700 acres of machine inserted rice have been completed.

Unlike the plain areas where early and late rice can be planted in one year, the northern mountainous areas of Xianyou County have high altitude, and the climate, soil, and water quality are only suitable for planting single season medium rice. The growth cycle can reach more than 150 days, and the organic matter content of rice is high. In recent years, the local government has actively promoted organic rice brands in mountainous areas, introduced a series of subsidy policies, and increased farmers’ enthusiasm for grain cultivation.

In a cooperative in Jian’an District, technicians from the agricultural machinery department are working hard to debug two newly purchased combine harvester and three tractors, and to train agricultural machinery operators. The 18 previous combine harvester of the cooperative have been adjusted to the best state after overhaul and maintenance.
