Drones help improve the quality and efficiency of agricultural plant protection

Recently, in the belt composite planting base of Jiangtun Village, Yutang Township, Wanshan District, drones are carrying out “flying prevention” work on 670 mu of farmland, helping field management through scientific and technological means to promote agricultural efficiency and farmers’ income.

At present, it is a good time for crop growth and a critical period for pest control. It is extremely important to do a good job in mid-term field management. In order to ensure a bumper harvest, Yutang Township purchased a drone to spray pesticides on the soybean corn belt composite planting base in Jiangtun Village. The drone took off steadily under the operation of technicians and flew back and forth at a low altitude in the farmland. The foggy pesticides were evenly scattered on the crops, and in just dozens of minutes, the drone sprayed several mu of farmland.

“I planted 4 mu of grain. In the past, it took me most of the day to take medicine manually by myself. Now the township government uses drones to help us with medicine, and it was completed in less than 20 minutes, which greatly improves the efficiency.” The villagers of Jiangtun Village praised it.

UAV spraying can spray more than 10 mu of farmland per hour, which is several times the efficiency of manual operation. Compared with traditional artificial sprayers, UAV low-altitude spraying of pesticides has the characteristics of simple operation, fast speed, high efficiency and low cost. Standardized and mechanized drugs can also reduce the pollution of pesticides to the field environment.

In this spraying operation, Yutang Township dispatched two drones to take turns to work, and it only took 3 days to complete the pesticide spraying of 670 mu of soybean and corn belt compound planting base in Jiangtun Village. At present, the two drones can complete the average flight prevention operation of 250 mu to 300 mu per day, accurately serving farmers, so that the crops they grow can thrive and ensure a bumper harvest. Yao Fang, director of the Agricultural Service Center of Yutang Township, said.
