Chinese agricultural UAVs help Agriculture in Thailand’s agricultural development

In the afternoon, over the farmland in Roi Et province, northeastern Thailand, an agricultural plant protection UAV was shuttling rapidly, and the white pesticide sprayed from the bottom of the body formed a fog curtain. On the Tianlong, 43 year old pilot Nikong is focused on controlling this drone.

Before 2020, Nikong and his wife worked at a duty-free shop in the Thai capital Bangkok. As the COVID-19 has severely impacted Thailand’s economy, the family’s income has declined sharply, and they decided to quit their jobs and return to their hometown for farming. Before returning home, Nikong purchased a Chinese made Dajiang Agricultural Plant Protection Drone and decided to leverage its expertise in aerial photography to apply the drone to the field of agricultural planting and develop new professions.

After finishing the work at hand, Nikong told reporters that the main function of this agricultural drone is to spray pesticides and fertilizers. He said, “Nowadays, young people are unwilling to stay in rural areas to farm, and there is a shortage of labor in the village. Using drones can help farmers improve their work efficiency. Using manual spraying of pesticides on rice fields does not exceed 10 liters (24 acres) per day, and drones can spray 40 to 50 liters of land per day

Nikon and more than 20 other peers received orders through social media and carried out drone spraying operations in Roi Et province and surrounding areas. Nikon said that Roi Et province is a double and three season rice Growing region, and there is almost no slack season every year. He works about 6 hours a day and 25 days a month, not only earning more than when he worked at a duty-free shop in Bangkok, but also having more time to spend with his family.

In recent years, intelligent machinery represented by plant protection drones has shown great potential in agricultural production. Chinese made agricultural plant protection drones empower local farmers in Thailand and promote more efficient and safe agricultural production.

In Chumphon province in southern Thailand, Allen killed pests in his Durian Garden with Dajiang Agricultural Plant Protection UAV. During the epidemic, Lao workers hired by Durian Garden were unable to return to work in the orchard, so Allen used drones to spray the work with a try and see attitude. At the beginning, I was not sure about the effectiveness of drone spraying, but after using it, I found that it can efficiently kill pests

Agriculture plays a crucial role in Thailand’s economic development, with nearly half of the population engaged in agricultural related work. In recent years, due to the adjustment of agricultural population structure, intensified aging, and increased labor costs, Thailand’s demand for modern agricultural machinery has rapidly increased. In this process, Chinese agricultural plant protection drones have continuously optimized their functions for local core operating scenarios, continuously providing “acceleration” for the development of modern agriculture in Thailand.
