Yunxian County, Lincang City, Yunnan Province, vigorously promotes the “flying defense” operation of plant protection UAVs, accurately applies pesticides in concentrated rice fields, combines green prevention and control with the rule of unified prevention, and ensures the high yield of crops this autumn and the stable income increase of farmers.
Recently, in Xiaojie Township of Yunxian County, with the roar of motors, under the operation of technicians from the Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Yunxian County, plant protection drones loaded with pesticides skimmed the rice fields at low altitude, spraying pesticides along the set route, and carrying out Pest control for rice, such as rice planthopper and rice blast.
According to a technician from the Agriculture and Rural Bureau of Yun County, a plant protection drone can complete the “fly defense” operation of one acre of rice field in just one minute. One drone can work on an area of about 200 acres per day, which is more than 20 times the efficiency of manual spraying and can reduce pesticide use by more than 30%. Compared to manual spraying, plant protection drones are more efficient, safe, economical, and environmentally friendly.
It is understood that Yun County is a major conventional grain producing county in China and 70 key counties for corn production in Yunnan Province. Its total grain output ranks in the forefront of all counties (districts) in Lincang City. In recent years, Yun County has taken multiple measures to simultaneously promote food production, firmly shoulder the political responsibility for food security, and achieve joint responsibility and management of the Party and government. This ensures that the task of food production is implemented in villages, farmers, and plots, and that full planting and planting are achieved during the best season, ensuring stable and increased grain production.
