Recently, on the Dongwei Dam in Jianggu Village, Jianggu Town, the sound of “buzzing, buzzing, buzzing…” can be heard. Looking at the sound, one can see a drone flying in defense, spraying pesticides on rice in the dam area.
Currently, rice is in the tillering stage and is also at a high incidence of diseases and pests such as rice leaf roller, rice planthopper, and rice blast. Prevention and control are the most crucial. Jianggu Town coordinated with the Plant Protection Station of the County Agriculture and Rural Bureau to obtain one drone, and invited agricultural technology experts at the state and county levels to provide technical guidance, seizing the opportunity to comprehensively carry out integrated prevention and control of rice diseases and pests in the dam area.
It is reported that drones can operate around 200 acres per day. Compared to manual spraying, plant protection drone spraying technology not only reduces labor costs, but also applies evenly, effectively improving the utilization rate of pesticides, achieving pesticide reduction and efficiency increase, and promoting green and high-quality development of the agricultural industry.
With the assistance of drones, a round of full area pesticide application has been completed in the Dongwei Dam area. Next, Jianggu Town will continue to use drones and mobilize the masses to carry out unified prevention and control of rice disaster areas, fully ensuring food security.
