On July 14, Leiyang Forestry Bureau organized professional technicians to spray pesticides with plant protection drones to prevent and control bamboo locust pests. The combination of touch killing and stomach killing was used to prevent and control 10000 mu of bamboo forest, protect forest resources and maintain ecological security.
At the operation site in Feijiang Village, Nanyang Town, staff prepared the necessary drugs for pest control according to the proportion of pesticides and operated drones for spraying operations. After five drones were loaded with medication, they took off to the treatment area and sprayed 45 to 50 acres of medication each time. They sprayed the medication back and forth over the bamboo forest, and it rained like a fine rain on the bamboo leaves. In a moment, bamboo locusts fell off the bamboo one by one. It is understood that a drone can carry out flight prevention operations on over 1000 acres of bamboo forest every day. Compared with manual spraying, it greatly improves spraying efficiency, saves pesticides and labor costs, improves prevention and control effectiveness, and operates more safely and conveniently, fully leveraging the advantages of unified prevention and control.
During the hot summer season, there is a high incidence of bamboo locust infestation and a critical period for bamboo locust control. This year, the Forestry Bureau of Leiyang City arranged a professional prevention and control team to carry out locust eradication operations in 6 villages in 6 villages of Nanyang Town, Dayi Town and Huangshi Town affected by bamboo locusts in the city by combining artificial ground prevention and control with UAV prevention and control. The operation lasted until July 20. The prevention and control measures adopted this time are low toxicity and pollution-free drugs, which have no obvious toxicity to humans, livestock, poultry, etc., and have no pollution to the surrounding environment. A notice was issued to the surrounding residents the day before the implementation of the operation, and corresponding protective measures were taken in advance.
