Drone “Flying Defense” Protects Rice Harvest

In recent years, Qianchang Town of Yao’an County has always carried out the strategy of “storing grain on the ground and technology” throughout the whole process of standardized rice planting, vigorously promoted scientific and technological planting means, and constantly promoted the transformation of traditional agriculture to modern agriculture.

Recently, Qianchang Town has actively carried out crop Pest control, made full use of the advantages of plant protection UAV in “flying prevention”, applied pesticide precisely, combined green prevention and control with unified prevention and control, made field management efficient and energy-saving, and promoted the improvement of agricultural production quality and efficiency.

At the Xincun Village Committee in Qianchang Town, there are endless fields of green rice. Accompanied by the sound of rotor rotation, a plant protection drone rose into the air under the operation of technicians, flying at a constant speed along the rice field. The white atomized pesticide sprayed from under the fuselage was evenly sprayed onto the rice field, completing the pesticide spraying of 8 acres of rice field in just 5 minutes.

A professional technician from the plant protection drone “Feifang” said, “In the past, we could only cover 3 acres of land per day with manual spraying. Now, using a plant protection drone can cover about 300 acres per day, and the drone” Feifang “has a much better effect on pest control, which is much more convenient for us.

Zhang Hua’an, Director of Qianchang Town Agricultural and Rural Service Center, stated that, Our agricultural and rural service center has been assigning relevant technical personnel to various village committees since May to carry out field monitoring, guide the masses in prevention and control, and integrate project resources to use cooperatives for drone ‘flying defense’ operations and unified prevention and control work. Next, we will continue to strengthen field monitoring, regularly sending technical personnel to the farmland to ‘catch moths and see insects’, determine the prevention and control time, and ensure the safety of food production this year.
