Plant Protection Drone Flying Defense Technology Helps Agriculture and Harvest Protection

At present, it is a critical period for the prevention and control of crop diseases and pests. The supply and marketing cooperatives in Nanchuan District, Chongqing are based on their functional responsibilities to serve agriculture, rural areas, and farmers, and actively carry out agricultural socialized services. On July 31st, the Supply and Marketing Cooperative of Nanchuan District, Chongqing organized agricultural technicians to Qiping Village, Hetu Town to guide and assist farmers in the prevention and control of rice diseases and pests. They also used plant protection drones to carry out “flying prevention” operations on 110 acres of rice fields, ensuring that rice production increased and farmers’ income increased.

Agricultural technicians introduced that unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) agricultural modernization services have high spraying efficiency, precise drone operation, and environmental sensing technology. The sprayed water mist covers a wide range, is both fine and uniform, and has high fertilizer and pesticide utilization efficiency, far higher than traditional manual operations. This has achieved the reduction of fertilizers and pesticides, reduced environmental pollution, saved time, money, and quantity, and improved the quality and efficiency of crops.

In recent years, the Supply and Marketing Cooperative of Nanchuan District, Chongqing has vigorously promoted the construction of an agricultural socialized service system, focused on improving the comprehensive service capacity of agricultural modernization, and carried out a series of services such as soil testing, formula fertilization, and drone unified prevention and control.

This year, a total of 130000 acres of agricultural socialized services have been carried out, of which 46000 acres are under the unified defense of drones. This has effectively reduced manpower, material resources, and costs, improved the quality and quality of agricultural products, and laid a solid foundation for promoting agricultural efficiency and farmers’ income in the entire region.
