On August 9th, the reporter saw in Aktash Town, the largest relocation and resettlement site in Xinjiang, that the West Plum of Yisrespili Aisaiding’s family has entered the mature and market stage, with each fruit hanging on its branches, and the delicate and sweet fragrance wafting in the air. The town officials learned about the growth situation and sales channels of his family’s plum trees while providing advice and suggestions.
Villager Isrepili Aisaiding said, “I have contracted 5 greenhouses at the facility agricultural base in Aktash Town, planting tomatoes and cucumbers. Later, I heard that Aktash Town is going to contract fresh fruits externally. I have also contracted 50 acres of fresh fruits, including prunes, pears, and apples. The prunes are about to go on the market, and the apples and pears have also entered the fruiting period. In the later stage, management will be increased until they bear fruit in autumn.
It is understood that the Aktashi Town Fresh Fruit Base has invested nearly 100 million yuan and has built 14000 acres of fresh fruits. It mainly grows more than ten types of fresh fruits, including prunes, apricots, apples, cherries, peaches, grapes, etc. Through the application of new technologies and models, it continuously accelerates the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. In 2023, Aktash Town also introduced two qualified and skilled fresh fruit related enterprises through investment promotion, solving the employment problem of over 1400 people. The masses can not only work here to earn money, but also master fresh fruit management related technologies.
Maimaiti Abdullai Abulizi, a villager from Valeva Village, Aktash Town, said, “I have been working at the fresh fruit base for over two years, mainly responsible for managing ten acres of apple trees, pruning, watering, fertilizing, and pest control. After two years of effort, I have mastered fruit tree management techniques. My current monthly salary is 2000 yuan, and starting from next year, I will contract 50 acres of fresh fruits myself to increase my income.
Developing the fresh fruit industry is to tap into its potential and ensure that the “fresh fruit” economy is turned into a tangible industry that enriches the people. In order to enable the fresh fruit industry to benefit the people as soon as possible, Aktash Town has made efforts to adapt to local conditions and multiple channels, taking the fresh fruit industry as the entry point to promote integration into local development. Based on local and surrounding market demand, the development planning and layout of the fresh fruit industry in the entire town have been readjusted and optimized.
