Hejing: Peasant Peach Harvest

At present, the thousand acre soil peaches in Alitengbruck Village, Hejing Town, Hejing County, Xinjiang are entering the picking season. On August 9th, in the peach orchard of Kurban Tucson, a villager in Alitenbuluke Village, peaches with a blush covered their branches, and the fragrance of fresh peaches came to their faces. The villagers were busy picking, packing, sorting, and transporting.

This year, I planted more than 50 acres of early maturing soil peaches and started harvesting them on August 1st. My family grows early maturing soil peaches and sells them wholesale in Urumqi for 10 to 12 yuan per kilogram, “said Kurban Tucson.

It is understood that this year, the forest fruit planting area in Alitengbruck Village reached 1600 acres, including 1000 acres of soil peaches, 400 acres of prunes, and 200 acres of dinosaur eggs. Due to the long planting time, aging varieties, and market saturation of local peaches in the village, the economic benefits of the villagers have declined. In response to this situation, the village committee of Alitengbruck Village has organized farmers to learn new technologies and introduce new varieties, optimize and replace old peach trees, continuously improve the quality of soil peaches, and also introduce new varieties such as prunes and dinosaur eggs. At present, the trial planting has been successful and the benefits are good.

Cui Xinkai, the director of the Alitengbruck Village Committee, said, “In September, a large number of local peaches will be launched in our village. After the improvement of varieties, the quality of peaches will be greatly improved, and sales and prices will also increase, increasing the income of the villagers.
