Agricultural drones assist in field management

At present, the growth of Weifang corn is entering the heading stage, with high requirements for light, water, nutrients, and temperature. Whether the field management is scientific and appropriate will directly affect the yield of corn.

On August 16th, in a vast farmland in Weicheng District, Weifang City, rows of corn were already heading. Looking around, the corn grows happily, presenting a vibrant scene. Technicians are manipulating drones to spray foliar fertilizer. It is reported that drones have high operational efficiency, with an average of 30 acres of farmland per hour per device, which is approximately 20 times the efficiency of traditional manual spraying operations. In order to ensure the nutrient supply of corn and reduce the occurrence of diseases and pests, cooperatives seize the opportunity to spray pesticides and foliar fertilizers reasonably during agricultural seasons, laying a solid foundation for a bumper autumn harvest.

Since the beginning of this year, Weifang has continuously strengthened the guarantee of agricultural machinery and continuously improved the level of agricultural machinery application. As of now, there are over 1300 agricultural drones in Weifang city ready to carry out “one spray and three prevention” operations according to the needs of field management at all times, fully ensuring high grain yield and harvest.
