Green income increasing road for vegetable greenhouses

In early autumn, when we walked into the vegetable greenhouse of the Zhukang Planting Farmers’ Professional Cooperative in Xinglong Town, Xihe County, fruits and vegetables such as chili peppers, beans, and cucumbers were hanging all over the branches, growing happily. The workers were busy picking, packing baskets, and transporting, and the scene was filled with a scene of harvest joy.

The person in charge of the cooperative, Party Yachun, said, “We mainly grow fruits and vegetables that are mainly strawberries, edible mushrooms, and facility vegetables throughout the year. Currently, 80 fruit and vegetable greenhouses have been built, and vegetables have been sold in large quantities to the county and surrounding towns.

It is understood that 30 year old Dang Yachun returned to his hometown in 2019 to start a business in vegetable planting. In order to expand the planting scale and standardize operations, he established the Fungus Health Planting Farmers’ Professional Cooperative in 2020. With the strong support of the Xinglong Town Party Committee and government, the method of “farmers+cooperatives+e-commerce+market” was adopted to transfer 150 acres of land to plant greenhouse vegetables, driving surrounding people to work nearby and effectively increasing the income of migrant workers.

In recent years, Xihe County has vigorously developed a green economy by utilizing regional resources and a good ecological environment, doing a good job in ecological research, following the concept of “rural revitalization, industry first”, guided by market demand, developing characteristic industries according to local conditions, promoting agricultural efficiency and farmers’ income, and opening up a green income road for the local people.
