Agriculture Embraces Digital Transformation

From relying on experience to relying on technology to cultivate land, production efficiency is improved, and farmers suffer less and earn more. Entering Kexin (Tianjin) Ecological Agriculture Technology Co., Ltd. located in the Binhai Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park, the words “Let the world have no difficult land to grow” came to our attention. This is the joint mission of Hu Jianlong, Chairman of Kexin (Tianjin) Ecological Agriculture Technology Co., Ltd., and “Kexin People”.

When I was a child, I lived in a rural area and studied communication engineering in college. After graduation, I worked in the chip industry. “Hu Jianlong came from Taigu County, a major agricultural county in Shanxi, with bright red chili peppers, golden corn, and delicious red dates… Walking in the fields of his hometown, he marveled at the prosperity of his hometown, while also experiencing the hard work of farmers. The way of farming in my hometown has always been relatively backward, and digitization can greatly improve farming efficiency. As the son of a farmer, I hope to use technology to make farmers farming less painful, “he said.

In 2016, the Binhai Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park was officially unveiled. This planned area of 10.3 square kilometers, fully utilizing the advanced experience of Beijing Zhongguancun in scientific and technological innovation and the policy advantages of Tianjin Binhai New Area, bears the heavy responsibility of transferring high-tech enterprises and transforming scientific and technological achievements. Hu Jianlong has identified this “experimental field” of collaborative development between Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei, and moved the company headquarters to Tianjin. He began to “communicate” with crops, Moving more and more ‘black technology’ into the fields.

Nowadays, the technological empowerment brought by digital agriculture to agriculture is not just the addition of sensors in the fields. Through an information-based platform, production factors, means of production, and technology can all achieve cross regional circulation and complementarity, achieving collaborative development in the new agricultural ecosystem.

On the operation interface, the air temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide concentration and other numerical values inside the greenhouse are clearly visible. These data are uploaded to the algorithm center through the control center, and then analyzed through the algorithm center for big data, providing guidance for farmers to water and fertilize, and even predicting the yield of crops before harvest, helping farmers effectively manage their farmland.
