Drones Assisting Rice Production and Income Increase

Recently, over the rice high-yield demonstration area in Nawan Village, Huashi Town, Fangcheng District, Fangchenggang City, a plant protection drone shuttled back and forth, spraying water mist like pesticides. Compared to the traditional manual spraying mode, the plant protection drone operated faster and more efficiently, greatly saving labor costs.

At present, it is a critical period for rice control. In addition to using plant protection drones to spray biological pesticides on rice fields, the Agricultural and Rural Bureau of Fangcheng District also organizes agricultural technicians to the fields to guide and promote various knowledge and technologies of disease and pest prevention and control, and to enhance farmers’ awareness of unified prevention and control of diseases and pests.

Chen Xianliang, a senior agronomist at the Agricultural Technology Promotion Center of Fangcheng District, said, “Since the beginning of this year, we have used plant protection drones to spray biopesticides on about 400 acres of rice high-yield demonstration areas in Maoling Town and Huashi Town, prevent and control pests and diseases, and carry out relevant training activities to further promote the reduction of chemical pesticides, accelerate the comprehensive green transformation of agriculture in Fangcheng District, ensure the quality and safety of agricultural products, and strengthen the construction of ecological civilization.
