A unmanned rice harvester shuttles through the fields, accompanied by the roar of the machine. The cutting, threshing, crushing and other processes are completed in one go… Recently, Shanghai Qunchao Agricultural Products Production and Marketing Professional Cooperative located in Xinye Village, Zhuangxing Town, Fengxian District seized the opportunity to harvest this year’s rice. The scene was filled with a fresh aroma of rice, and egrets flew in abundance, dancing with the harvester, creating a scene of abundant harvest.
On the harvested rice field, the straw baler has already started working, and in a short while, the bundled straw has been packaged. The head of the cooperative, Gu Yonghao, introduced that the straw harvested from rice will be recycled for feeding sheep, rabbits, etc., becoming a part of the cooperative’s green ecological and green agricultural production.
It is understood that the cooperative has a rice planting area of about 500 acres, and all of them are treated with rabbit manure organic fertilizer. This ecological cycle planting and breeding model is not only conducive to soil ecological restoration, but also ensures the safety and quality of rice. The cooperative’s “rabbit rice” is highly popular among the citizens. “Since mid August, customers have been asking when our new rice will be launched.” Gu Yonghao said that the first batch of “rabbit rice” will be launched one after another on September 1st and will be sold by order.
On April 28th, under the guidance of the agricultural machinery department in Fengxian District, the cooperative cooperated with Shanghai Lianshi Navigation Company to plant the earliest batch of rice seedlings in the city this year using unmanned operation. This rice harvest, the cooperative once again used unmanned harvesters to operate, not only alleviating the problem of agricultural labor shortage, but also further demonstrating the power of scientific and technological agriculture, taking a solid step in the exploration of smart agriculture.
We have further cooperated with agricultural machinery manufacturers, deeply involved in the manufacturing process, and carried out unmanned and intelligent transformation of agricultural machinery before leaving the factory. Compared to the transformation after buying it back, the data is more detailed and the transformation effect is better. “The person in charge of Lianshi Navigation introduced that in the cooperation with agricultural machinery manufacturers, the company continuously optimizes software algorithms and accumulates a lot of experience. Compared to last year, the unmanned agricultural machinery used for homework this year has evolved again. This agricultural machine has been improved in both software and hardware. It can not only operate forward, turn, and avoid obstacles through satellite navigation, but also incorporates a perception module that can accurately measure the yield per acre during the harvesting process.
The construction of unmanned farms can not only effectively reduce labor costs in agricultural production, but also one of the solutions to current problems such as labor shortage and older agricultural workers. “Gu Aijie, deputy director of the Agricultural Mechanization Promotion Center in Fengxian District, introduced that the construction of unmanned farms in Fengxian District is steadily advancing. The 2300 mu integrated grain unmanned farm in Xinye Village, Zhuangxing Town has begun to take shape this year, and by 2025, Fengxian District will complete the construction task of 13000 acres of unmanned farm.
