The wind blows and the wheat waves and ears fragrance, and the golden harvest is busy everywhere. In Huangzhong District, Xining City, Qinghai Province, 288600 acres of wheat were harvested by opening the sickle. Farmers seized the favorable opportunity of sunny weather and intensified their efforts to ensure a bumper harvest of grain and the return of grains to their warehouses.
In the past two days, in Langlongkou Town, Huangzhong District, large combine harvesters have been shuttling back and forth in the continuous wheat terraces, harvesting, threshing, and wheat harvesting in one go, creating a bustling scene in the fields.
Zhang Shenghai, the person in charge of Mansheng Wheat Breeding Cooperative in Lanlongkou Town, Huangzhong District, told us, “This year we planted 1300 acres of wheat and have harvested for 3-4 days. The yield per acre is about 300 kilograms. This year’s crops are growing better than last year, and the yield is also better than last year. It is estimated that the harvest will be over in about 10 days. This year is another bumper year.
In order to ensure the smooth progress of autumn harvest, Huangzhong District actively organizes the implementation of agricultural machinery, scientifically scheduling and coordinating the allocation of operating machinery. At the same time, arrange technical personnel to provide technical guidance services in the fields to fully ensure the full collection of grain receivables. At present, 9 townships in the entire region have started harvesting operations, and it is expected that 288600 mu of wheat in Huangzhong District can be harvested in mid September.
Cai Bangguo, Deputy Director of Agricultural Machinery Promotion Station in Huangzhong District, said: We have dispatched technical backbone personnel to establish two dedicated service teams to conduct guidance and inspection on the inspection, maintenance, and safety of agricultural machinery in the field. At the same time, we have timely scheduled the progress of wheat harvesters in various townships and sent meteorological forecasts and warnings. As of now, more than 390 combined harvesters have been put into use in the entire region, including more than 50 cross regional operations, with a harvesting area of nearly 60000 acres. It is expected that the autumn wheat harvest will be fully completed in mid September.
In recent years, Huangzhong District has actively implemented the strategy of storing grain in the land and storing grain in technology, with the core of improving agricultural quality and efficiency, and increasing farmers’ income. It actively guides farmers to focus on grain production, promotes standardized production and mechanized operation of wheat through the construction of high standard farmland, and ensures that “a bumper harvest is in sight” of wheat becomes “a bumper harvest in hand”.
