Intensive planting for yield increase and alkaline breeding

At present, it is a critical period for soybean planting. Liaoning Province is seizing agricultural opportunities, optimizing planting patterns, scientifically cultivating new varieties, and helping to achieve soybean expansion and increase soybean production capacity.

In Fanhe Town, Tieling County, Tieling City, a series of seeders roared past, sowing two rows of seeds on the ridges of the fields. This year, the big ridge double row planting mode has been adopted here, with small ridges turning into big ridges. Each acre of land can be planted with 20000 soybean plants, twice the number of plants.

We have increased the width of the ridge from 60 centimeters to 65 centimeters, and one ridge can grow two rows of soybeans, which not only increases the density of soybeans but also ensures ventilation and transparency. “Jiang Wenye, the head of the Agricultural Technology Promotion Station of Tieling County Modern Agricultural Service Center, told reporters that this model had a good harvest during trial planting.

This year, Liaoning Province plans to expand the planting of 100000 acres of soybeans, guiding various regions to promote the construction of soybean planting demonstration sites according to local conditions. In Yiniubaozi Town, Faku County, Shenyang City, soybean and corn belt compound planting is adopted locally. A field of soybeans and corn has become “neighbors”, with corn and soybeans planted side by side in different proportions.

According to agricultural scheduling, as of May 24th, 1.28 million acres of soybeans have been sown in Liaoning Province, and soybean planting is coming to an end. In Wafangdian City and Tieling County, two experimental plots of approximately 60 acres of saline alkali land, a “big exam” has just begun. The flat field is divided into numerous small pieces, each with white signs on it, recording detailed information about soybean varieties.

This year, the Department of Science and Technology of Liaoning Province launched the project of “Innovation of Soybean Salt-alkali Resistant Germplasm and Cultivation of New Varieties”, and the Tieling Academy of Agricultural Sciences became the implementing unit of the project, screening and cultivating the province’s salt alkali resistant soybean germplasm resources. Vice President Dong Youkui said that Liaoning Province is currently rich in saline alkali land resources, and nearly 50% of the saline alkali land is still not fully utilized. If new soybean varieties with high yield can be successfully cultivated in the saline alkali land, it will make important contributions to expanding the soybean planting area.
