Zhanjiang Plant Protection Unmanned Aerial Vehicle “Flying Hands” in a showdown

The Zhanjiang Federation of Trade Unions in Guangdong Province, in conjunction with the Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and the Municipal Agriculture and Rural Bureau, organized more than 40 plant protection drones in the city to compete at Hongxing Farm in Xuwen County. Nowadays, from agricultural mechanization to agricultural intelligence, drones have quietly become one of the “protagonists” in the new agricultural technology process in Zhanjiang City.

With the development and application of technology, modern agriculture is no longer a traditional labor-intensive industry. Through the competition, we will create a knowledge-based, skilled, and innovative high-quality agricultural industry worker team that is in line with economic and social development, injecting new vitality into the city’s agricultural development. It is reported that the plant protection drone flight defense skills competition has actively responded to the work deployment of the Zhanjiang Municipal Party Committee and Government to comprehensively promote the “Hundred Counties, Thousand Towns, and Ten Thousand Villages High Quality Development Project”. By building an agricultural skills competition platform, the demonstration and radiation effects of the competition activities are effectively exerted, and the reform of industrial worker team construction is continuously promoted. At the same time, it is also a beneficial attempt to explore the high-quality development of new rural scientific and technological innovation.

In the red soil golden spinach planting area, the contestants put in all their efforts and demonstrated their superb drone operation skills. At the competition site, drones, under the control of the contestants, accurately completed various work processes such as takeoff deployment, directional flight, precise spraying, safe landing, waste liquid treatment, appearance cleaning, aircraft reset, etc. Each link is very close to the actual plant protection work, reflecting the integrity and professionalism of the competition.

After intense competition, contestant Liang Guangyi from Zhanjiang Fengyan Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. won the first place and will apply for the honorary title of “Zhanjiang May Day Labor Medal” according to the procedure.
