In the golden autumn of September, there is a scene of a bountiful harvest filled with fragrant melon and fruit grains. In Xupu, Huaihua, over 400000 acres of medium rice have matured and entered the harvesting period. As the sun sets, golden rice covers the land, creating a beautiful rural landscape with surrounding villages, ponds, and crisscrossing highways.
The upper row terraced fields located in Xinling Village, Changanying Town, Shaoyang City, Hunan Province, have the best scenery of the year. The terraced fields during the harvest are in the shape of boats, making them a magnificent ancient scenic spot. The ancestors of the Miao and Dong ethnic groups built along steep mountain slopes and hills, extending from the foot of the mountain to the half mountainside of Wuji Mountain at an altitude of over 1600 meters, with a vertical drop of nearly one kilometer, reaching as many as a hundred layers. Standing on the observation deck overlooking the Diaojiao Tower of the Miao and Dong villages, the stars are scattered and surrounded by golden rice waves, adding infinite vitality to the terraced fields.
As a major province in grain production, the rice planting area in Hunan Province has remained stable at 59 million acres throughout the year, ranking first in the country. This year, under the premise of stabilizing the area, Hunan has deeply implemented six specialized actions, including joint research on improved varieties, deep integration of agricultural machinery and agronomy, and optimization and innovation of planting modes, to improve the level of grain yield per unit area and continuously tap into grain production capacity. At present, over 22 million mu of medium rice is entering the mature harvest period, with an expected yield per mu increasing by 2% compared to the previous year.
