Plant Protection Drones Assist in High Yield and Harvest

Recently, at the thousand acre “high-quality” grain and oil core demonstration base in Kuifeng Village, Maolin Town, Jingxian County, Anhui Province, two plant protection drones shuttled back and forth in the rice fields, performing precise pesticide application operations. The atomized drugs were evenly spread on the crops at the base, and the entire process was fast and efficient.

Since 2022, Kuifeng Village in Maolin Town has expanded its reproduction on the basis of existing grain and oil cultivation, and combined with projects such as high standard farmland construction to create a thousand acre “high-quality” grain and oil demonstration base. This year, one seedling cultivation center has been built, and a preliminary trial has been completed to cultivate 1500 acres of seedlings in a factory. Two plant protection drones have been equipped, and a rural comprehensive mechanized service center has been established to enhance the “agricultural trusteeship” capability and radiate and drive about 3000 acres of surrounding farmland.

At present, it is the booting period of rice, as well as the period of weed growth and high incidence of diseases and pests. In order to ensure high-quality and high yield of rice, in recent days, Kuifeng Village in Maolin Town has also provided drone prevention and control socialized services to other large planting households, providing protection for the rice industry to save costs and increase income. Cao Yong, Secretary of the Party Branch of Kuifeng Village, said, “Our two plant protection drones can spray at least 600 acres of water and rice fields in a day. Compared to manual spraying of pesticides in the past, they can replace the workload of more than 40 people and solve the problems of labor shortage and high costs. At the same time, the drones spray pesticides evenly, which can save about 15% of pesticides compared to manual spraying
