Drone operation helps increase rice production and harvest

On the morning of October 3rd, in Longyitun, Wu’an Village, Longmen Township, Daxin County, Chongzuo City, an agricultural drone was shuttling back and forth over the rice field under the operation of a “flying hand”. The downward airflow of the rotor pushed the pesticide evenly to spread and accurately sprayed on the rice leaves. In just over ten minutes, it completed nearly 20 acres of spraying operations.

“The use of drones to spray pesticides has greatly improved the efficiency. No one needs to go to the field. If I have to carry a spray on my back to hit this piece of rice, it will take at least one day. Now it can be completed in more than 10 minutes, which is really convenient.” said Huang Taihai, secretary of the General Party Branch of Wu’an Village, Longmen Township, Daxin County. Compared to the traditional manual pesticide spraying mode, agricultural drones have the advantages of fast speed and high efficiency in spraying pesticides, which not only greatly reduces labor costs but also improves pesticide utilization efficiency.

Since the beginning of this year, Wu’an Village has utilized the “technology+agriculture” approach to fully utilize the village level collective economy to purchase drones, promote the mechanization, intelligence, and digitization of agriculture, help the masses improve quality, reduce costs, and increase income, and empower rural revitalization.
