Recently, entering the field of Chengtang Town, Yifeng County, Yichun City, Jiangxi Province, a plant protection drone shuttled over the farmland, evenly “sowing” rapeseed seeds into mechanically opened ridges. With the popularization of agricultural mechanization and increased policy support in recent years, using winter fallow fields to plant rapeseed is convenient, efficient, and profitable. Our farmers’ enthusiasm has greatly increased, “said Li Jun, the head of Yufeng Planting Professional Cooperative in Chengtang Town, Yifeng County, happily. It is reported that the cooperative is expected to plant 1200 acres of rapeseed this year, and can complete 300 to 400 acres of planting per day through drone seeding, greatly improving the efficiency of rapeseed winter planting.
As an important crop for winter planting production, rapeseed is currently in the season of winter planting. Yifeng County is closely adhering to the requirements of the “three comparisons and three competitions” activity, fully tapping into rapeseed planting resources, planning and implementing in advance, actively promoting winter rapeseed production in 2023, ensuring rapeseed yield, improving farmland fertility, and achieving both grain and oil abundance.
Break down tasks to expand planting area. Based on the local crop planting structure, the county conducted preliminary scheduling and investigation to grasp the winter rapeseed planting plan of each township (farm). The tasks were decomposed layer by layer, and on the basis of last year’s rapeseed planting, various regions continued to be mobilized to do a good job in stubble connection, make full use of winter fallow fields, and expand rapeseed planting. The planned rapeseed planting area in the county is 35000 mu, including 10000 mu for rice oil mode and 25000 mu for rice oil and rice oil mode. As of now, various townships (farms) are seizing the sunny weather to carry out large-scale plowing and planting of rapeseed, with a sown area of 12000 acres.
Strengthen services and increase support efforts. Since October, the agricultural and rural departments of the county have organized agricultural technicians to go deep into the frontline to guide farmers in the early stages of rapeseed production planning, seed selection, plowing and land preparation, and live seeding. They have strengthened guidance in new cultivation agronomy, production management and protection, mechanical equipment, and actively promoted socialized services such as rapeseed production land preparation, drone fertilization, and disease and pest control. At the same time, we will increase support for rapeseed farmers, coordinate the purchase of rapeseed seeds with unified funds, provide free distribution to rapeseed farmers with a planting area of more than 5 acres, and provide a subsidy of no more than 100 yuan/mu for integrated cultivation and sowing operations for rapeseed farmers with a continuous planting area of more than 100 acres.
Integrating agriculture and tourism to create industry articles. The county is based on the development of the rapeseed industry, utilizing the ornamental characteristics of rapeseed, and exploring the multifunctional cultivation of rapeseed. In combination with the development of leisure tourism industry, the county actively creates a “two line” and “ten point” rapeseed sightseeing functional area. By means of centralized planting, multi-functional rapeseed fields such as vegetable, feed, sightseeing, fertilizer, and oil fields are planted along the Tianbao Expressway interchange exit to the Tanshan Tianmu Hot Spring Road, Yitan Road, Red Famous Villages, and beautiful rural areas. At present, plans have been made to plant 5000 acres of oil and vegetable fields in Xiawu Village, Hongming Village, 3000 acres from Tianbao Expressway to Wenquan Road, and 2000 acres in Huangsha Village, actively promoting the organic integration of the grain and oil industry with rural tourism, and improving comprehensive production efficiency.
