Wuxuan County: Drone Plant Protection Flies to a New Height of Agricultural Assistance

To do a good job in double cropping rice rotation, protect and improve farmland fertility, and consolidate the foundation of food security. On the morning of November 7th, the Wuxuan County Supply and Marketing Cooperative organized party members and volunteers to carry out a volunteer service activity in Fangxue Village, Luxin Town, titled “I Will Do Practical Work for the Masses – Unmanned Machine Planting Rice and Fertilizer”.

At the work site, accompanied by the buzzing sound of propeller rotation, the drone, under the operation and debugging of technical personnel, shuttles through the fields to carry out aerial seeding operations in an orderly manner according to the pre planned route. This year, the county supply and marketing cooperative undertook a 10000 acre rice fertilizer rotation project with a project fund of 1.2 million yuan, involving 12 village committees in 5 townships, purchasing 20 tons of green fertilizer seeds. The supply and marketing drone flight defense team plans to complete all project tasks in 15 days.

In recent years, the county supply and marketing cooperatives have actively taken on the role of enhancing the comprehensive service capacity of agricultural modernization, and included the promotion of flight prevention and plant protection operation services in the key construction projects of the comprehensive reform of the supply and marketing cooperatives. We have established a professional team with 15 technical personnel, 2 qualified personnel for professional after-sales maintenance and training, and 8 drones to provide timely and efficient aerial seeding and flight prevention services for various planting households in the county, as well as sales, after-sales services, and pilot training services for DJI plant protection drones. Since November 2022, a total of more than 10 DJI drones have been sold, and more than 15000 acres of rapeseed flowers and purple cloud green manure seeds have been sown by air, while more than 20000 acres of sugarcane, rice, and other aerial defense have been provided, serving more than 1000 households.

Next, the county supply and marketing cooperatives will continue to deepen the comprehensive reform of supply and marketing cooperatives, continue to expand the field of agricultural services, vigorously promote the process of agricultural modernization, provide guarantees for increasing farmers’ income and wealth, assist in rural revitalization and national unity, and contribute to the supply and marketing forces for Wuxuan to accelerate the construction of a new pattern of high-quality development in the “three cities and three districts”.
