Section 1 Uses of agricultural UAV
- Plant protection operations For many years, pests and diseases have been one of the main problems affecting food production, so China needs to carry out a large number of plant protection operations every year. General agricultural UAV spraying flight speed of 3 to 5 meters/second, the width of the spray is 4 to 8 meters, and the distance from the crops can be maintained at a fixed height of 1 to 3 meters, the scale operation can reach 80 to 100 acres per hour, its efficiency is 100 times higher than conventional spraying. The operation of the automatic flight control and navigation system of the agricultural UAV minimizes the time of exposure to pesticides, thus ensuring the safety of the staff.
In simple terms, plant protection operations are to use modern high-tech drones to replace manual operations in the fields and spray pesticides, eliminating the danger of artificial pesticide corrosion poisoning and slow efficiency.
- Farmland information acquisition UAVs, especially rotary-wing unmanned helicopters, have flight performance that fixed-wing aircraft do not have, such as vertical takeoff and landing, fixed point hovering and medium-slow cruise flight, and are especially suitable for repetitive, fixed point, multi-scale and high-resolution requirements required for crop information acquisition in the field.
Uav information acquisition is flexible and convenient, which can eliminate the problems of satellite remote sensing limited by time and low resolution, and has high efficiency. It is an important platform for understanding crop growth and obtaining plant nutrient and disease information.
- Forestry inspection work monitoring, forest fire prevention, forest pest detection and prevention
- Operation pollination work UAV can be used for rice hybrid seed production to assist pollination
Section 1 Classification of agricultural UAV
First, power source classification
Agricultural drones can be classified in a variety of ways:
Usually according to the power source, it is divided into oil-powered drones and electric drones;
According to the model structure, it is divided into fixed wing, single rotor and multi-rotor UAV;
According to the take-off mode, it is divided into running take-off and vertical take-off and vertical landing.
Advantages and disadvantages of oil-powered drones:
Advantages: large load, strong wind resistance, strong endurance, large operation area, water cooling + air cooling auxiliary cooling system to ensure longer stable operation of the aircraft, a large range of single operation.
Disadvantages: Because the fuel is mixed with gasoline and oil, the incomplete combustion of the oil will be sprayed on the crops, causing crop pollution.
The price is high and the overall maintenance is difficult.
The operation is difficult, not easy to get started, and the pilot’s operation level is high.
