At present, it is the flowering and silking period of maize, and the oviposition period of pests such as corn borer. In order to improve the effectiveness of disease and pest control in the middle and later period of maize, agricultural technicians from Agriculture and Rural Bureau of Lingcheng District operated unmanned aerial vehicle to release trichogramma to control corn borer, to help field management through scientific and technological means, and to promote corn yield and income.
Recently, in the green high quality and efficient demonstration area of grain and oil in Dali Village, Yidukou Town, Lingcheng district, agricultural technicians are operating drones to deliver trichogramma to prevent corn borer. “This is a trichogramma ball. When you open the ball, there is an egg card inside. After two to three days, 2,000 to 3,000 larvae will hatch from one egg card. Ling Cheng District agriculture rural bureau seed management station stationmaster Xu Qingqing said.
Corn borer is the main cause of corn grain damage, which seriously affects the yield and quality of corn, and Trichogramma eggs are laid in the eggs of corn borer, thereby killing the larvae of corn borer.
